Start your business new year off right! Our very own Cedric McSween is hosting a special training session after our Jan 10th meeting now named “Goal Setting & Time Management”. The event will take place from 8:30am-10:30am (after our regular business meeting), and is open to anyone- BNI members, business associates, partners, etc!

If you’re interested in attending, please block your calendar on Jan 10th, 2018 until 10:30am, and RSVP using this link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0d4cabaf2aa6f58-sales. How To Mingle At Your Holiday Parties

Tis the time of year where you likely have several different holiday parties and social obligations that you need to attend- either with your spouse, families, or friends.  For many of us, this is a wonderful opportunity to network and share your business and services with others in the community that you might not have otherwise met.  Don’t get me wrong….we don’t want any of our BNI family to be that pushy person at the party that goes up to everyone in the room and shares a sample of their new product, or begs everyone to visit their website or check out their business facebook page.  Bad networking is far worse than no networking.  It’s important to look at your upcoming obligations and have a strategy as to how you want to introduce yourselves to people, and consider how you’re connected to the other people in the room.  This may be the one time of the year that you socialize with your significant other’s co-workers and their families….so it’s important to not only make the most of this impression.

Monster.com had a great article recently about how to tackle Holiday parties, and make them “work for you”: https://www.monster.com/career-advice/article/holiday-networking-tips-hot-jobs.  It is a very good read, and worth while to review before your next social gathering.  I would add one suggestion to the list….share your BNI experience and involvement with others.  Not only does it tell others that you have a business, but it tells them that you’re a resource for referrals, and that you know people who might be able to help them.  Make the most of these social events by doing some positive press for your business and having fun at the same time!
